Acorns

Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is the North Walsall Lions nominated charity of choice and we have raised our target of £1874 in each of the two years since we were first formed.

Established in 1988, Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is a registered charity offering a network of care for life limited and life threatened children and young people, and their families, across the heart of England. These children and young people are not expected to reach adulthood and require specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Acorns is currently supporting around 640 children and nearly 900 families, including those who are bereaved.

Last season we held a number of fund raising events. Our evening with Brian Little, Garry (Bruno) Thompson & Bobby Thomson, was a fantastically supported event. As ever our annual sponsored walk was very well supported. Our 5-A-Side team actually managed a point last season! So well done guys, I reckon we will win it this season! A special “thank you” must go to all the folks who gave up there time to partake and help organise these events.

We are always open to new opportunities to raise money for Acorns. If you have any ideas or would like to be involved in one of our fund raising events then why not come along to our monthly Monday evening meetings.
